Darren studied and was influenced by Nelson Shanks at Studio Incamminati. He also studied with Michael Grimaldi, Anthony Ryder, Robert Liberace, Ted Seth Jacobs. Prior to his arrival , Darren studied at the Art Students League in New York, and spent four years at The Atelier in Minneapolis, where he also served as a drawing and painting instructor.
